Wander X Kaizen House: Chinese New Year

Wander Restaurant, Stoke Newington, UK

This Chinese New Year (of the Pig) calls for a collab between Alexis Noble (head chef at Wander restaurant) and Elizabeth Haigh (of Pidgin fame and Kaizen House). They're doing it banquet-style with a big ol' multi-course dinner centred around a ‘Hong Shao Rou' whole pig (obvs). If you like the sound of pork belly, head, cheek and trotter - all slowly braised with spices and Chinese vegetables, served with steamed rice, sticky pork ribs and greens - then you know what to do. There'll be plenty of offal; lucky 'fat choy' veggies; a fishy, noodley prosperity salad; and sesame banana fritters with miso kaya caramel. If that's not seeing in the new year in style then we don't know what is.
